I don't wait 24 hours before stitching usually. I let it dry, put it together with some small clamps for a couple hours, then start the stitching process. I drill my holes and that method isn't not too hard on the glue joint.

I asked about where it came from because there's a lot Pakistani "damascus" being sold under all sorts of names. A common joke is calling it car bumper damascus because of the mystery steel its made from. Hardened damascus definitely shows the pattern better. If this is some of that mystery...

Wow, applied heat? Who knows how hot and how long. In fact, if I were going to remove a set of scales, that's probably what I would start with, heat. If you don't mind me asking, what type of wood and which epoxy did you use?

I heard that last night too. Sad. I've been watching him on Youtube and Instagram for a long time. Seems like he said he nearly lost his daughter from a car accident about a year ago, so that family has had more than their share of grief. Very sad.
