Finishing Up 3 pc Kitchen Set

Thanks for the kind words, I had a lot of concerns with this set because the customer was "designing" what, and how he wanted it. I was really unhappy with the pin placement, but he wanted the set to closely match a set his father brought back from Europe in the early 1950's. The only...

    super glue

I should have added, variable temp paint stripper heat gun better than torch, torch pretty agressive, hard to control temperature. Have seen some glues epoxies not wanting to release until above 250*f. Oven heat also controllable.

LN vs Dry Ice for aeb-l?

Thanks John, that squares up with what I have read from others. I guess someone might have the ability to tell the difference in say a hardness of 63 vs 64 in use, but that would not be me. Personally, I love the patina of an aged carbon steel blade but I am running into more requests for SS.

LN vs Dry Ice for aeb-l?

From what I have gleaned on different sites, dry ice will lose you up to about 1 point on the rhc scale. Any thoughts from those here with real world experience with LN and dry ice? I know LN is the cat's butt for cryo, but is it a necessity for aeb-l? Thanks,

Devin Thomas Calling It Quits For Damascus

What is it about knifemaking and health issues? I know a lot of peeps doing this (myself included), that probably shouldn't be doing this due to reasons of health. My mentor lost his battle to COPD at a too-young age, and I am flowing along down that same path.
