    latest razor

I managed to finish up another razor. This one is a little more conventional. The blade is O1 with stainless hardware and ziricoate handles. I also made threaded inserts for the handle so the screws are the same on each side. The blade is finish is 2000 grit. And before anyone...

    Old jack knife

My father gave me an interesting gift tonight. This folder was my great grandfathers knife. There is a rumor he used it a little, its not quite mint condition:biggrin:. The blade has been opened and shut so much there is only half the lettering on it but I'm sure it says Sheffield (and he...

Removing scratches on the front of guards?

Painters tape is your friend. Like John I finish my guard face and the blade before glue up. When I'm ready to work on the handle I often use painters tape to protect the guard and blade. If your using high carbon steel for the blade put a little wax on it first just to prevent the adhesive from...

    Thoughts on

I bought the 2x72 model it was a huge letdown. The Kalamazoo is not suited to knifemaking, I still use mine for heavy stuff like sharpening lawn mower blades and roughing out stuff from the forge. You don't have to drop several thousand if (big if) your mechanically inclined. Us Canadians have...
