I'm looking to install an exhaust fan in my grinding room to get some air flow, remove smoke and airborne dust. It could be placed to just blow outside.
Anyone think that a portable blower ventilator fan would work?
Or am I better off with a wall mounted exhaust fan with shutters...

It looks like a used brass hammer which is useful. I would put a handle on it and keep it.

Instead of welding the pieces together on the top tack them together on the sides. The other option is to leave the billet thick enough that you surface grind off enough material to remove the weld material.
