What's going on in your shop?

I just went to a friend' house and used his belt surface grinder. I did 7 fillet blades, two dumplins, a skinner and a caper n A2 and two drop points hidden tangs in A2. I did 7 cowboy knives and 4 clip point hidden tangs in 154cm. That should keep me busy for a while.

Need help for a stupid mistake

I use the pin or thong hole in the butt or tang of the knife to run some 1/16 wire though it and make a hook so it will wrap around the wire. I can hang 8 bundles in my semen tank and then individually pull a group up the neck at a time when ready.

    Stag Finishing

More than likely it has been dyed. Knife handles periodically announce when they are going to dye stag and you can send it in to them. Additional finish can be waxed or using boiled Lind seed oil to get the shiny finish at the end.

    Grinding Damascus

I once made a comment that i take the edge to a dime thickness and got cut down for leaving it too thick. I still use a dime as my guide and have no problems grinding it hard.

    Old dog. New trick.

I only hollow grind and use a chisel edge to clean scratches up. I learned to go across the hollow on an angle to keep full contact with the steel.

    Old dog. New trick.

I mainly use them post heat treat. You can really find out how the grit marks are camouflaged when you hit them with the 220 git. I have even taken them to 1200 grit with the stones. I use them with an oil and it seems to help removing when it is a slurry. I can thank Jerry McClure for showing...
