Keep the Baldor. It’s dangerous, but it has applications. I would never tell someone to buy one, however you already have it. I’m sure the Wilton is probably very nice, but I haven’t been able to destroy my Baldors. One is 40 yrs old and the other is about 30 yrs old. They have sat in the rain...

Opinions on Cold Steel San Mai?

Okay. Zito present. I just want to know how/why the person is a nut case. Like bad knife maker, thief, sexual predator, terrorist, a threat to anyone? Lol. I mean something’s gotta be up with this person. It’s not your fault, though, @Just a random dude. Just when you were gonna fill us in, some...

    A Hunter, a Boner, and a Chef Don’t Walk into a Bar

My biggest issue when it comes to these types of problems is that as soon as I get to multiply, I lose interest in figuring it out.

Lol the last two are the most famous unsolved problems in mathematics.

Ok so you see how convolution turns the graph with 2 sharp edges into graphs with 1 sharp edge? An instantaneous creation even would have a graph that has one extremely sharp pointy edge. Convolution can turn that graph into a graph with no point edges. Then we can use regular calculus to study...

That’s a neat saying. Do you know who said it? Or is it an original Tedism?

    A Hunter, a Boner, and a Chef Don’t Walk into a Bar

Sad Lol. Ted, depends on the audience. If you say that to my students, my children, wife, parents, friends, (basically all the people I know) they will immediately NOT listen. Haha

Actually, I’m terrible at balancing my checkbook. However, you are spot on with applied mathematics. I’m not an “applied mathematician,” per se, but my work does have applications. For example, my most recent publication solves and old equation known as Abel’s equation. One of the applications...

Well, 29, I think. Quit high school at 16, got my degree in pure mathematics at 19-20, first masters (in Math Education) at 21, second masters (in pure math) at 23, and PhD (pure mathematics) at 29. Yep, I spent a few hours in a classroom lol.

Thanks, Demo! Greatly appreciated! Means a lot to me. You have played a huge role in my progression to say the least. I try to learn as much as possible with each knife and not make the same mistakes on the next one. I remember @John Wilson saying do each part to the best of your ability then go...

Thanks for the compliments and especially the critique. I was wondering if I had rounded them enough. I always end up rounding too much in some spots and not enough in others. I end up chasing a wavy line running length ways down the handle. I seem to always get carried away when it comes to the...
