What's going on in your shop?

Depending on which corner your in, that's how my shop looks after I clean it. I find that it's not so bad that my hobbies get in the way of work, it's just that my hobbies get in the way of my hobbies.

Thought it was about time to show a few finished knives

Both bird and trout knives are forged 5160 which is usually my go to steel for forged blades, the leather work knives are old commercial saw blades HT'd as 1080 and I haven't had any issues with them. They hold a razor edge like you wouldn't believe. last the skinner is 1080.

the liner is 2 parts with a bevel sanded to match the angle of the dovetail, then everything is epoxied together. pretty easy to do just dry fit until you like the way it looks and double check everything is still in place once the epoxy and clamps are applied.

Normally I would forge the tang down, but this is what happens when you start forging before the design is complete, you get to cut it to shape. since I have enough length it really isn't an issue. now for the frame and then I remembered I have a Plasma Torch so I don't have to do this.

Ground to 150 grit Time to think about how the handle works 2x4 profiled to match the drawing, 1/4" frame with @ 3/8" scales Rough Shaping on the sander Feels fat in the hand? Need to trim it and thin it down a bit, That feels better now to cut out and fit the frame

    My First Knife Photo

I couldn't agree more with the comment about photos finding the things my eyes miss. We should always be our worst critic, unless you have a wife then just ask her! I guess I need to take my own advice and post some previous work. by the way that's a good looking knife.
