Finally got Fred's knife finished. To recap: 80Crv2, linen micarta, G-10 liner & herringbone, stainless pins/thong hole, sheath by RK Leather.

Holy begezus....that's a beauty my friend. Wasn’t sure how the red “stripes” would contrast but dang they’re purdy. A knife to be proud to present to anyone I’d say. Congrats!!

hey Christmas came early. I received Bob's knife today. It's as good looking in person as in pictures.

and razor sharp, had to shave a little hair off my arm for good measure.


I realize you took some chances and worked a bit out of your comfort zone on the handle and it really paid off. thanks Bob, I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into making this for me.

Fred, I'm still humbled to have sent a knife to you. Because of your expertise in knife craftsmanship, you caused me to really focus on the details and try something new. That herringbone insert in my knife is a departure from my original plan and a replication of something I saw in one of your knife photos and wanted to try. It's almost close to a perfect herringbone layup, but not quite. For sure, I learned a lot in making this knife... and, I suppose that's purpose of the KITH.
I do hope your arm hair grows back shortly, that's a lot of hair to sacrifice.
