My 6 year old daughter the Blacksmith

She's got a 45# Vulcan anvil that I got just for her. Following Bruce's suggestion I'm going to look at getting her her own forging hammer, or if I feel Froggy I may just make her one like mine. She's always excited to spend time out in the shop, but now with the addition of the ability to use...

    guard clamps by David Roeder

Ok, we'll its been a time since I've been in the shop making anything. Today I'm working on another of my ABS knives and thought I better get a shot of the guard clamp in use. Here goes :-). Enjoy !! Simple to use, and work great to help set the guard against the shoulders when using JB Weld...

    Question on guards.

I totally agree with Ed on this one. Although, if you insist on soldering make a copper chisel. It's harder than the solder and softer than the brass guard. It won't be able to scratch the brass when removing the solder. I also haven't soldered in a very long time. Just make sure your guard...

    Set up for stabilizing !

So finally I'm set up again for stabilizing. So this is a TurnTex chamber with a Harbor Freight 2.5 CFM vacuum pump. I built the tray for everything to have a place and keep it self contained. Both open, and closed view of the system.
