Belt wobble and how to corect it.

Why no refund? You can't tell if belts are faulty if you don't run them on your grinder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Which Grinder to buy?

Coote has been around for a long time and many makers have had good service from them. There are a lot of start-ups the last few years trying to break into the low end grinder market. Time will tell if they will last or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Opinions Please: Selling Knives on Instagram/Facebook?

Websites are 25 year old technology. They are still relevant, but that's the fact. Word of mouth is still the biggest driving force behind sales especially for newer makers. Social media uses that same force. One of the biggest criticsms of knife makers websites is that they do not keep the...

    vertical sander parts help

If this is the model I'm thinking of the wheels are a hard plastic that crack and chip with age. None are contact wheels. There was a guy on eBay selling aluminum replacements but they were pricey. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Knife Making Startup Costs....Need Input/Help

Have you considered getting a sheet or plate of steel rather than bars? Given your quantity it could be a more efficient use of steel. And you ARE getting it precision ground, right? Otherwise plan on a surface grinder if doing it yourself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Knife Making Startup Costs....Need Input/Help

Don't forget to budget for consumables like belts, steel, sandpaper, epoxy, epoxy containers, shipping containers, heat treat costs, postage. You could be looking at another $1000 right there depending on the volume you are trying to produce. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Grinder questions. ..whats new

Okie, if you are like some guys that want to make knives but not tools, take a look at a Coote grinder. It's an older 2 wheel design but still used by quite a few makers. A little over $500 for grinder with 8" contact wheel. You have to provide your own motor, belt, and pulleys. If you only flat...

    Chief's Knifeworks Custom Fixed Blade

Hate to say this but other than the file work that looks a lot like a blade blank I bought years ago off of EBay from Premium Knife Supply.

    Harbor freight bandsaw mod

My first HF saw lasted about 2 years before the guides went bad. I had bought the warranty so they replaced it with no hassle. I've had good success with Starrett blades.

    Cutting knife blanks

If you drill your holes close enough together you can cut through the rest with a cold chisel and then file the excess to shape. A little faster than a hacksaw.
