I looked into Ionbond. The steel I want to coat is a european equivalent of 5160.
The question I got is will the temperatures of Ionbond / Decobond ruin the temper of 10xx series of carbon steels?

I would like to have a knife made in this fashion. I am having a hard time finding anything authentic from Scandinavia. And only seeing questionable quality and unknown steel copies from China or Pakistan of this knife.

It's all good. I decided against purchasing the Cold Steel San Mai SRK. I was just impressed with the durability and flexibility of 90 degrees that San Mai seems to bring to the table on a video I seen. I just wanna forget this thread and post I made lol.

One part of that says spring steel. The spring steel I am familiar with in fencing is carbon steel. At the very least they could have wrote the article a bit more understandable and professional. To me the article comes off as confusing and speaking of different steels.
