Ever since I saw one of these parsers I've thought of trying my hand a making one. Did you make this one yourself? I think it turned out quite well. How did you spin it?
Thanks for sharing Erik. So the friction between the faces keeps the blade from moving? Nice and simple. I don't know why I always try to over complicate things.
I'd love to see an exploded view so that I could better understand how this works. I've thought a similar arrangement would make grinding folder blades much easier.
Happy Birthday Bruce! You are the main reason I frequent Knife Dogs as much as I do. I truly hope it is a special day for you, spent with family and friends or doing something that you love.
A good resource for checking chemical composition of commercially available alloys (and other materials) is matweb.com. It looks to me like the main difference is Nickel 201 has less carbon than Nickel 200 as was previously mentioned.
Is there anything better than a Bruce Bump WIP?
As always, a very interesting project and many thanks for letting us tag along as it progresses. Will the barrel be a smooth bore or have rifling? Either way, I'm looking forward to that particular process in addition to everything else.
