    Blade show

Hey guys, I'm at Table 23X. Come by and say hello. I saw Tracy yesterday, so I know a few of you are around! This is my first time doing this, going to be an experience.

Tumbled blade finish and tumbled Ti finish - How are you doing it?

Seems like when I was deep into trying to figure out how to do it, I had arrived at the same conclusion - that a benchtop vibratorywasprobably not going to do it. There has got to be someone out there that has a homemade rotary. I even tried a paint can with a sanding disk drill attachment glued...

Tumbled blade finish and tumbled Ti finish - How are you doing it?

Curious how some of you are getting good tumbled finishes on both blades and titanium. I have messed around with a few blades and done an etch, followed by tumbling with various media. I have gotten favorable results. Ti has been a whole 'nother story. I have not gotten anything that I am...

Carbon fiber Ti liner lock in process With few questions....

I grind mine soft. I usually leave about .02" -.03. Like Tracy said, I've had a few warp here and there. A lot of makers grind them hard but I don't do this because it is rough on the belts. I also know a few guys that just knock of some of the meat there.

Blade show exibitor - How to set up?

Ed, Thank you for the insight on table sharing. I am sure I read that in show rules and contract stuff, but I had forgotten it. I know that I will be approached by other makers about table sharing, as it seems so common. I could see having another maker stop by and visit, but I will take your...

Blade show exibitor - How to set up?

Great advice Ed on the separate bank thing. My wife will be with me for some of the show, and she is in banking. I will be fortunate to have her there with me because she is very good at spotting fraudulent anything when it comes to money. She can pick out counterfeit money while blindfolded...

Blade show exibitor - How to set up?

I didn't know intuit had a pay feature. I use quickbooks and turbotax. I will definitely check this out so I don't have to add another card to the deck. If everything is integrated, it will make it much simpler. I also considered paypal, like someone just sending me paypal to my paypal right...

Blade show exibitor - How to set up?

Thanks guys. great responses. I am going in already knowing I probably wont sell much, if anything. I have been told time and time again that shows are about exposure, especially shows like Blade. I've been told it is worth doing the show at least once, just to get a ton of people looking and...

Blade show exibitor - How to set up?

Updated the signature. I don't post here near as much as I used to, but maybe I can try to do so between now and Blade.

Blade show exibitor - How to set up?

For any of you here that have been a blade show exhibitor, I am looking for info on how to set up my table. I finally got one this year, and this will be the first knife show I have ever done. Looking for info on things like something to cover the table with, hints on what to have out on the...

    Mosaic pins....love/hate?

I think mosaic pins are very nice. I have put them in many of the fixed blades I have done. The only time I have ever seen people look down on them is in circles of the higher levels of the ABS. It seems like there is where traditional looks are more appreciated. I can unswrstand that. Most...

    What to do here?

Wondering what some of you might do in this situation. In the very top of these Barlow slipjoint handle scales, there is a 3/32 pin hole. The center of the back spring also utilizes this hole. -Note the pointed pin pointing at the hole.- This is fossil walrus, and I'm afraid the peening is going...

Question about being a vendor at shows - Specifically Blade in Atlanta

I was asking about a table Tracy. Sorry, I didn;t know the difference at the time i posted the message. Thank you all for the info. I did talk with blade last week, and was told that tables sold out the first week of this month. There are currently ten people on the waiting list, and I'm just...

    Anodizing titanium

I'd like to know more about this. I actually built a stencil machine a few years ago too, but I can't remember where the plans were found. I made it out of parts from radio shack. Mine has the AC/DC switch and is in a project box. If I already have this, would the variable transformer be all...

Question about being a vendor at shows - Specifically Blade in Atlanta

I have traveled to Blade show in Atlanta for about the past five years. I have never been a vendor at a show. It has been my goal to get to being a vendor for many years, and it looks like this year I might actually be able to pull it off. My goal is to have ten knives built by the show in...
