Im going to start forge welding in my 3 burner gas forge. The manufacturer suggests using a piece of ceramic tile on the bottom of the forge to keep any flux from gumming up the brick lining. What do you vets think about that? Better suggestion? Thanks!

Jawjacker, i actually bought the wheel directly from Beaumont Metal Works on Columbus OH. They made my kmg grinder and i just didnt want to chance buying something from ebay and it not working. But man, i did look long and hard at those!

Thank you as well. I did use an old lockback as a template. I love the size of the handle in my hand, but I agree, I need to work on the shape so it doesn't look like a potato. I'm moving my shop, so in a few weeks I'll get back to it. Maybe the break will do the creative side some good...
