You’re very entertaining sir I’ll give you that.
Thanks for understanding 50% of what I type is sarcasm and the other 50% isn't which I fully expect you to be able to know. Yes, that was sarcasm. I honestly don't mean to sound like a ahole with posts like this. However I would have to type a lie if I said that I learned anything on here except from @52 Ford. I have only been doing metal since October. I understand that I learn much different than normal people and it may take less time. No, I don't actually expect anyone here to know about how I learn or me or what I know and don't know (trust me the latter is >), which is why I try and explain it as easily as possible in my signature and website. I know people are going to respond like this, I do after all work as a computer nerd. I'm far from new to the internet. It's just much worse now than it was in 2003 so I choose to not participate. I did yes, figure that people who are making knives would know a hell of a lot more than I do about metallurgy/materials science/chemistry/physics etc. I also figured it was common sense for someone to understand how to use a cell phone in a survival "situation" to make fire. (Along with using the camera lenses which may be possible?idk) YES. I WAS WRONG. I fully admit it. However, I am here to learn. Not argue. If you do not like me, then I yes expect you to be smart enough and mature enough of an adult to just block me. Other than that, I have work to do for people who understand me, so no, I don't care and I am not benefitting from doing any of this where as everyone else I know is charging ridiculous amounts of money for CNC cut and hand finished blades, so, actually yes, I do know that what I'm doing is wanted by people to the extent I can't keep up with it at any level that keeps it a hobby. And na, I don't care what anyone else is doing frankly. Not my business. (Pun not intended) So is it that much to ask? Well yes I actually do understand that it is. I just don't care. Sorry. Certain people have these things called morals that they won't ever break. So let me help you, you're wasting your time. I can read this as antiscale dries. I can reply and am. This is the last response I will post in this thread. Period. I wish everyone here the very best. And yes, that is not sarcasm I actually do mean that. Just piss off. Kthx

its just my observations but the knife you have displayed isnt bad but if you dont mind some suggestions/ critiques. .
Your knife doesn't flow well. Generally your handle should flow through the guard into the Riccaso. Yours appears to be an after thought thrown on the blade.
Its just a personal thing but when I post photos I generally place the knife so my makers mark is visible. Name identification with the knife.
your guard appears unfinished when compared to the blade and the glossy handle.
Overall though its not that bad for ...
Link or directions to where I can see this knife of his? Thanks.

If you search “verax knives” and it will bring up his website, you can look at reviews or pictures, etc. there’s a couple pics there. Don’t bother him though, his website says he is “overwhelmed” and out two weeks on knives. Two weeks, mind you!

I have a job as we have established...

Making? That's honestly my very first one. Learning? October.
A month. Sorry. I should be more concise and less fluff I know. And ya, I jump in head first. It's not something that I would recommend to other people but I tend to..learn quickly. I'm going to get soooo much bs on here for this - so I'm not going to say it but. I'm diagnosed on the autism spectrum which was Asperger's and if you understand .. IQ.. I'll let you draw your own conclusions? Ha.

October, as in October of 2021? So about 6 months?
Learning yes. That's book reading and YouTube videos of foreign Metallurgy classes ha. Making would honestly be a month. That's when I started prototyping designs that is an exact copy of a terrible Pakistani sourced D2 52Rc blade. I was testing the tolerances of my KMG mostly I wouldn't sell it for a billion dollars..(I ain't kidding lol)

No I don't come from money nor make very much, but it's something that I personally can't stand in this world when people have..what in my opinion is way more than uhm. Enough. And continue to try and make money. I'm not saying that I don't understand it. It makes financial sense. I'm not saying I don't respect it either. I'm saying that I don't like it. Nothing more, and that is the action not the person who is doing it. I need to be way more concise on here now that I understand it. Only reason I'm saying this is to not get bs about that billionaire comment.

Well fortunately for all involved, I doubt you'll be faced with that proposal/dilemma.

Your website says to ask questions so.....

How do you feel you are able to support the claims on your website (which to me seems like a lot of fluff/hype and contradictory (to your posts here) information ) with exactly one month of experience and one knife under your belt?

I say on there test me. So, ya that's kinda cut and dry. I already had 7 people take a chance on me so. If I actually deserve to be in this world, then I can start charging a profit or expecting one in my case. I'll say this, yes, I got a lot of stuff to do in the near future but I would be more than happy to make a blade for you to evaluate at no cost to you if you would be interested in testing it. I break expensive metal all the time so.

Edit: as long as you don't timeframe me I could actually start but. You're welcome to DM me. Or ask any other questions or comments concerns etc. I'd be happy to address them.

And please explain what is fluff or hype? I literally tried to post that as honestly as I could and as scientifically accurate. That does bother me, so please do explain that if you don't mind.

No that's not necessary. Thanks for the offer though.

You talk in your FAQ section about why someone should buy a knife from you. You mention the ability to hold a grinding tolerance of .0001". But you have a KMG...not capable of that....especially by hand. And your grinds on your ONE knife bear false witness to that tolerance statement. That's false advertising.

You claim you have the best heat treatment possible. How do you know? You've made exactly one knife.

You also claim to use the most reputable suppliers, like AKS but then claim on here that AKS "WILL lie to you". Isn't that a conflicting viewpoint?

I have access to a 5 axis NC also. I consider that cheating and is only used for copying commercially produced EDC blades in pm steels. And I have done enough research to understand the science behind heat treating so I do know when I get an alloy sheet if there should be any changes to that produedre and if so what are the knowns unknowns and unknown unknowns. I should change that from the best, I meant that in relation to vac furnaces and production knives. That's my bad there. And I'm not entirely sure if that is, contradictory okay yes, however it also kinda happens to be true so.. that is why I put it. Mainly so people can price it themselves transparently. Would you mind .. critiquing me a little bit more? Is anything else worded in a fashion that I read into and others are going to read something else? I really appreciate you pointing that out to me, I do not do the bs marketing stuff that totally is not me so I will definitely change that as soon as I get home.

Also that knife you saw isn't finished fully. The handle isn't right and I need to erase the Rockwell indents* afterthoughts, sorry. But I actually do believe it is within .0001", I will measure it with a NIST calibrated micrometer and say 12 points of even contact on each face of the grinds? I'm curious myself honestly.

That's all well and good, but as of now it's theoretical and presumptuous. You have the POTENTIAL and the capability. And the steel SHOULD behave as expected. But until finished knives are rolling off the line that MEET those claims consistently.....it's hype.

As a side note, I'd like to see you clean up the language on the forum (it is well posted and documented that this is a family friendly, g-rated forum) and dial back the defensive nature a bit. Personally, I'm not too offended by it and I believe a man should be able to do as he pleases, within reason, but there is a place for respect and civility.....this being one of them.

I fully believe people are free to discuss, disagree, be extremely blunt and even argue....but we can still do that civilly without personal attacks, name calling and cussing....which the forum owner has asked that we refrain from. It's no skin off my nose but you probably are on thin ice here already and if you would, indeed, like to stick around you may wish to address that.

Similarly, I personally would remove the cussing and inflammatory content from your website. It doesn't look very professional, IMO. But that's your call not mine.

Thank you truly for taking your time to tell me that. I do appreciate it man to man. And yes, you are correct with the theoretical part. That's why I have the return policy that I do and also the financials. It's first up to my scrutiny, which I have to admit is pretty over the top anal, but the end customer gets the final say if he doesn't want it and a full refund - done no questions asked. Broken blade by doing something dumb like a normal human being? Also a free replacement which I was debating on and still am honestly but I don't take orders from people who I don't think would exploit that. Which just comes from my prior experience in my younger years with running a dating advice forum and psychology/sociology experience, I'm not saying I won't be fooled but it is difficult.

About the cussing, I actually totally agree with you and I messaged Brad saying to edit any of my messages with any kind of inappropriate language and I will readily admit that I do cuss like none other and it's incredibly hard to control. ~90% of the reasoning behind me not doing YouTube metal science stuff. I will take a quick look and try to change anything that I said, but being at work I really shouldn't be on this device so I'm going to do it quickly and if I miss something someone who can please change it for me or let me show you how to add filter words so they don't show up in only my posts?

Regarding the website cussing, that's again actually intentional. It's me. I'm not trying to .. act all pretentious and yes that's an excuse for me cussing like a sailor on fire. It's representative of me and I figured no children would find my website on their own even if most nowadays .. ya. I've kinda given up ha. I do apologize if cussing isn't your thing, I'm sorry and I do respect your point of view it just isn't exactly mine and I think we're both okay with that.
