My First Stock Removal Knives WIP

Looking pretty good, do as much profiling sanding and polishing as you can before heat treat. The sharpening notch would look better round, imho. Stihl make excellent ones for chainsaw sharpening . Also try to make your primary bevel as even as you can from the ricasso to the tip. I can measure...

    Introducing the HHFG..

Whats a HHFG..It`s my new invention for hand filing blades. I call it the Hacksaw Handle File Guide, patent pending:what!:. Works very well at keeping a consistent angle with-out rolling. Easy on the hand after 12hrs of filing. Simple to change files or sandpaper.

    Wicked Edge Question

Don't think you can get much better than Edgepal..this guy has done his research. The basic kit I think is $495, hoping to get one or make one. I have the same problem with my Edge Pro, it has quite a lot to do with basic trigonometry. Certainly has a lot to do with bad grinding on factory...

Epoxy is more for keeping the knife handle sealed from moisture etc. It adds some horizontal/vertical shear strength, but is not to...

    A little shop time!

Think you forgot to profile them:cool: or just can't see it from the pic. You don't want to do any grinding after heat treat. You might want more holes in the handles for better adhesion, balance and mounting options.

    Whew! I made 50 of these......so far

Very cool, way better than gluing two pieces together. I had a few knives done that way and don't like them.

    Hello

New Knifemaker from Northern Sask, Canada. I have lots to learn and am willing. So, if I ask some silly questions, it's because I really don't know. Anyhow just wanted to say hi.... Joe
