Hey guys,
there is a junk market coming up and I need to pimp a few knives
they are lightly scratched
you know from kydex sheaths, light use and so on...
SO what´s the best way to get rid of the scratches without using the grinder or hand sanding???
Any abrasive wheels I could buy which...
Hi guys,
I wanna make me a slack belt attachment
Don´t have an inverter so my grinder / 3HP / runs on full speed
I wanted to use the smallest wheels I could get... probably a 1" and a 1.5" (wanna use them for making fingergrooves as well)
but that means the bearings will be pretty small too...
hey dogs
made a knife scribe

I love grinding
What I don´t like it sanding and cleaning the blades after HT
With all the oil burned into the blade I get annoyed easily
I figured out that a scotchbrite pad works best to get rid of the burned in quench oil but it takes time same with sandpaper
also put a...
Hey guys,
Will get a bigger more powerful ( 3 hp) grinder soon :D
Only problem... no variable speed
So I was wondering to what grit you grind on full speed
I´ll still have my smaller variable speed grinder right next to the bigger one so I´ll probably use the bigger one for profiling,rough...
Well well didn´t the ads say GunKote is durable and long lasting...
Not really true
Guess what I just figured out.
I had this small knife I coated with GunKOte a while ago.
Modified it on the weekend and to make the blade look darker I etched it
Someone told me that I´d get an used look by...

Was just wondering how you guys straighten out the ricasso if it´s not perfectly straight?
do you use a finer belt or do you start with a rougher one ?
do you use a jig?
Thx

hey dogs,
I etch or coat most of my knives
Kind of like the look of an etched or coated blade (and it helps to hide scratches  )
Anyway I saw this etch the other day and was wondering how it´s done.
Well I know that first of all to get the blade gray you have to etch it...
Hey guys,
Looks like I have to make a new flatgrinding platten.
Last time I made it out of O1 and tempered it to 60 HRC
But a dude told me that it´s not necessary and that no tempering means a harder platten which will last longer
What do you think? Is that true?
