If you do not tell Ed or JD I said it, piercing with a small welding torch can work if you are careful...or so I heard.That's why I keep a few carbide drill bits on hand.

Took your advice today next day Amazon prime on some solid carbide bits--it blew through the hardened steel like butter!! Nothing else I had was even able to touch it but the carbide was unreal!!That's why I keep a few carbide drill bits on hand.
That's a bummer...hopefully you can return them.Buying bearings to replace the worn out ones on the wheel guides of my grinder, only to find out when I start to strip them out, I TOOK THE WRONG SAMPLE TO THE STORE!!!
I was able to, thanks Sean. The great part is that, although the correct ones were larger, they just exchanged them for me without charging extra. It is one of those family owned businesses where you often get these unexpected, random acts of kindness. It is one of the reasons I support them.That's a bummer...hopefully you can return them.
