Not sure which walnut you've got, but American Black Walnut works darn good un-stabilized.

It's not necessary to stabilize Claro Walnut either.

Sean is correct. Claro Walnut does not need stabilized and is some great stuff.

If you could splash some water on it, that would show the grain and any figuring that might be in the wood. The figuring in Claro walnut is one of it's best selling features.

I will sand a bit and put a little water on it to show the great figuring. If a couple of you guys want to try some let me know as I have plenty.
