When do you consider yourself a knifemaker?

The knife slices and cuts on your fingers from trying to finish a sharpened blade are a red badge of courage - you might be a beginner knife maker.

If you know what stabilized, ricsso, plunge line, and distal taper means. You might be a knife maker.

I sold my first kitchen knife last week and have a kitchen knife and a skinning knife commissioned.

I have happy customers and all the knives I gave away for free while learning are holding up well.

The recipients of those knives are very happy as well.

I now consider myself a Knifemaker!

If you have removed some portion of flesh from your hand with a 36 grit belt and continue to work at the grinder with a golf ball size wrap of shop rag, gauze, t-shirt, paper towel etc on the offending finger.........
You forgot promptly catching that bandage on fire from the grinding sparks. Been there done that.
