Welder under $1000.

I have to drive ar keast 35-40 miles to find ant gas. closest welding supply sjhop is 25 miles away and sells no gas. I ended up ordering the Eastwood MIG 180. Report to follow.
 
Hey I never said no gas was a good idea, I just said it works to make billets hold together until I set forge welds. The very purpose of the welds are to be temporary, they are completely gone in an hour after I make them. I have never had them fail, they are cut off in the end and it saves my gas for more important welding projects. I said it would make real welders cringe...lol.

You will be fine using flux core wire. No gas req'd. It's messier, but it sounds like it best suits your needs.
