Welcome to the WCKA Forum on Knifedogs.
The WCKA is the Western Canada Knife Association with members in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon.
The Association was formed in June of 2000 when a group of knife enthusiasts got together in Kamloops, BC, Canada. They decided that there was a need for a knife related organization in Western Canada that would serve knife makers, scrimshaw artists, engravers, collectors, and anyone else involved or interested in knives.
You will notice by the name that we are not solely a knife maker’s club. We are a diverse group of individuals that are interested in knives. That is the only prerequisite for joining the club. We are not a guild and work will not be critiqued. Our aim is to promote knife making and collecting, and to offer opportunities for members to display and sell knives or items related to knives.
Membership started with members from BC only, but we now have members across Canada and Washington state.
WCKA currently puts on one show a year in Kamloops BC. We are looking at options of holding shows in other locations.
WCKA was formally founded under the Society Act of BC on August 14, 2000. We have a constitution and an elected executive consisting of a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. There are also committees for various functions.
