KNIFE MAKER
In the back of the handle I cut a deep counter-bore to hold an 8-32 capscrew in place. There is a washer between the wood and the screw. It is not a take-down knife so eventually there'll be epoxy around the screw and pretty much everywhere inside. My clearance hole is pretty close to the od of the screw. The few times I have assembled my prototype without the washer it is a very positive stop...as in the cap screw head is not burying into the wood easily... I would have to tighten it up tighter than i would to assemble it for that to happen.
This will always be an epoxied blade. At some point I may even use stabilized wood...
Does anyone think the washer is necessary?...all opinions welcome.
