This is a gift for a friend who is retiring. He is an expert on brain structure and function. So, a fellow knife nut has given the name Macrotome to the blade. A microtome is the little brain slicer used to prepare microscope slides. So, this would be a big brain slicer.
Otherwise, I was going to call it Heilibitta (or some conjugation thereof). This means brain slicer or brain biter in Old Norse.
It will be awhile before I get the fittings and scabbard done. Stupid day job.
I hope you like. I have to make one of these for myself. I always give this stuff away, or sell it to buy more tools and sanding belts.
