USN knife help

I found this in attic of house I bought but would just like to know more. It looks different than all the other USN knives I’ve seen online. I don’t care about value, I just would love some historical knowledge. Thanks in advance.

It’s hard to tell because the knife has seen better days. To my eye it looks like a Navy Mk1 knife that someone has re-handled.

The MK1 knives pre-date WWII but were made until the end of the war. The blade was adopted as the MK1 Dive Knife for US Navy divers and those versions had aluminum pommels.
