Tool Rest

Looking for suggestions on how to extend or mod my tool rest. I have a pheer grinder and the tool rest is kinda small for my liking. Any help appreciated.

can you just drill, tap and bolt a larger piece of plate to the original work rest? Just bolt it from the underside and cut your bolts off flush with your new top plate.

Counter sink the machine screws into the new larger plate that Andrew is suggesting.
