Wasn't happy with the dye job on the little sheath I posted about before so I just re-did some cut outs to start over. Interesting effects with the shaving cream method.
Colors used-yellow, chocolate. oxblood, dark red and cardovan (Fiebings LeatherColors). I like the effect better on these pieces.
I just rinsed them 20 minutes ago and will let them dry and set overnight before final cuts and glueup.
The two pieces on the right will be seen from the front and the two on the left will be cut for the back of the belt loop and Sam Browne stud etc.
A few spots that didn't get dyed that I'll touch up after the leather dries tomorrow.
I think I'll try the bubble method on a couple of wallet type knife holders with cutouts for the knives inside for when I transport a couple of safe queens. Line them with padded velvet. Maybe magnetic snaps like on ladies purses might work for those. Flat handled daggers with a thin profile.....................
