Red liners with desert ironwood or koa is always a good choice!

It’s for weight reduction and also epoxy ‘bridging’ if there is such a thing. I haven’t progressed any further on the knife but when I do I’ll also concave grind the center of handle further. I try to keep the balance as much as possible just behind the ricasso.

When I first started making knives, I didn't pay much attention to balance. I don't really think it matters much for smaller knives for for larger knives, IMHO, I think the blance point is a nice feature.
