Stacked Leather Puukko

I like that one ,the handle shape is better in my opinion and it's just my opinion .The round broom handle style is just too round and hard to index so I'm a big fan of the puukko knives with some flat to the sides of the handle.
 
That’s the same impression I came away with after making the first one. I’m not so sure i’m a fan of stacked leather washers. Although I did order some hard compressed sole leather if I ever do it again.
I’m pretty sure a birch bark is next.

I love the look of stacked leather, but I like stacked birch even more. Yours is flawless... is it easier to work with than the leather?

I'm not sure, I've only done the leather but the bark showed up today. I'll soon find out. Thanks Kevin.
 
That stacked leather looks awesome to me! Great knife. I love birch bark too and with your level of quality I know it will be a home run also.
 
Absolutely gorgeous, OP. Two questions:

1) What's the wood section?
2) What kind of finish do you use, and is the goal for the leather to remain a little "grippy," or do you use a finish that makes the surface hard, almost like wood scales?

The wood is Hawaiian Koa - a piece I had left over from the handle of the previous Kia. I am leaving it grippy. I did a couple coats of tru-oil and then bee’s wax vigorously applied.
