SS foil for spacers???

IMG_1683.JPG Can this be done?? I think it would look really cool, but I'm having trouble making it stick. I'm doing 2 layers of foil to make it stand out more. Should I punch holes in it?
 
That does look neat!! What if you used a 24 or 26 gauge SS sheet?? That should bend pretty easy and you should be able to epoxy it and when you sand it it will sand?? The SS on my Mini Forge came from a smoked microwave just cut the cover up.

Kevin how did you cut the wood on this with a scroll saw?? I've been trying to figure out a way to do this and when I try and use a scroll saw I end up with inconsistencies and voids in the wood?
 
The first thought that came to me was just stack the scales, attach them to each other with a dab of super glue and then use a scroll or fine tooth band saw and make your cut.

Yes you have to stack the scales, cut with scroll saw, then flip and switch. Super glue worked perfectly.
