Has anyone used stainless banding? It seems soft to bend. I want to try a handle with two different woods with the banding in the joints.
I realized I had banding machine a few boxes 1 and 1/2 ss banding.I see some use thin leather for the joint or wood to wood

Hi JJ, if I understand what your saying, I would think it would work just like any copper or brass when it's used in handles. I'll be following some of the other answers, I'm curious.

My concern is using 2 hardwoods un-stabilized Im worried about the joint in regards to shrinkage I will wax or oil the handle I just want to avoid any pitfalls. Once I do a couple Ill start using my stabilized pieces. I was even considering some kydex for the joint.

Make sure the banding is SS. A lot looks like it but isn't. Perhaps a little vinegar or rub from a lemon might give a for sure answer?
