Specific hand sanding question

Does anybody who has used these Sandflex blocks use them with lube or some solution - windex, wd40, oil?

I've tried it in the past, and to me it's just a big mess. However, there might be others who would like it.

On most of my working knives I do a 400 satin finish. I start at 320 diagonal, then 400 straight, then 600 straight and then back to 400 in only one direction and tilting the sanding bar as I draw it across.

My order arrived yesterday, they look very different from the hand sanding blocks in the local hardware stores. Can't wait to give them a go.

They work great! I had to do a last minute touchup before shipping. I used the medium one in the guard and the blade. Just a handful of one way strokes and the scratches went away. The nicest satin finish I’ve ever gotten. I think I could have gotten it even better had I kept going but I was so happy that I dismissed want to push my luck.
