Slip joint

I'm about to make my first slip joint , I'm using cpm154c for the blade and wanted to know if the same material would wok for the spring. The frame will be 410 stainless .

Yes, CPM 154 CM will work for the spring. I harden the spring along with the blade, then temper it at 1100F, 2 hours, 2 times.
