I hear that! the york gum burl block I have has been sitting in my pile over a year now waiting for just the right knife. I just cant bring myself to use it on just any knife it's too nice...

Here's a Birch burl I found hunting last year. it weighs almost 150lbs. it'll be a couple more years before I slice it up then a couple more before it's ready for sttabilization but I hope it will be full of awsome knife wood.

Not as stunning as most of what's been posted, but this is what I just got in to use on some kitchen knives. Lousy cell phone pic, sorry about that.

All stabilized. Box Elder, Maple and Madrone. The madrone looked kind of pink when I was ordering and I figured I'd actually be saving it for a friend in the future, but the darker shade is really nice and I'm tempted to order the other set that was available. Ironically enough, of the three pieces shown she picked the madrone as her favorite in the pic so she may be getting it sooner rather than later since one of the knives is going to she and her bf, he just vetoed pink for this particular knife.
