shadow pattern pivot

Is the standard shadow pattern stainless pivot just a washer and pin like a sodbuster, or is it something else like a rivet?

Jason most I have seen or done is with a rod drilled out. 3/16 piece drilled centered then 3/32 pin through center of rod for blade pivot. You chamfer the rod and spread the pin to make sure it holds in place. The rod hole in bolster area is drilled as deep as you can and still leave some handle material so rod will help hold it down.
I think most of them are 416 stainless rods. i have seen both 3/16 and 1/4 rods used.
I saw one the other day that used bronze as the rod(washer)

That's what I was thinking. I did one so far with bronze rod and a brass pin. I see the big shiny stainless ones on some of the knives by Menifee, etc. and was wondering if it was the same construction.
