Scottish Dirk - Partial WIP and Complete

That is a beautiful piece!
Thanks Dennis. Now on to the sheath. I watched a WeaverLeather video on how to make a scabbard and attempted to make one. I messed up on the measurements because I didn't pay attention to the instructions and the instruction could have been a little more detailed but anyway
;0. I now have a nice scabbard that is way to narrow for this knife. I'll go back and try again, just not today. ;)

Thanks guys. I’ve enjoyed reading about and making some of these Scottish blades.

That is amazing. What is the OAL and do you use a lathe for your handle?
I did the handle the old fashioned way. Band saw and hand sanding. I cut up some worn belts into long strips and did the shoe shine sanding.
The OAL is 15.5” with a 10.5” blade. From the reading I have done on the knives the handle is relative short. The weapon was used in a stabbing and back handed slashing fighting method.
thanks!
