Scotchbrite belts?

Another question from the rookie. I'm going to order some more belts for the 1x42 from trugrit and all they have in scotchbrite is medium and very fine. Since I have never used them I wanted some recommendations or even some pics of the 2 finishes. Thanks for the help.

This is very fine over a 600 grit belt finish. Just on the hollow grind, the flats are polished. You'll get different looks depending on your last grit before the scotchbrite. I hardly use the medium, I can get a better finish with a fresh 400 grit belt. Crummy pic, I know, but the only one I could find in a pinch.

Sounds like very fine it is. Those little boogers are expensive but they last a long time right. Since we are talking scotchbrite finish how do you do the flats to match...With the belt sander or do you do it by hand?

Do a few tests to really see for your self. I go to 120 grit, then coarse , med & Fine with Scotchbrite.

Try 120 then Med, & fine. Then 220G then Med & Fine. then 220g and just the fine until you get the satin brite finish you like.

i haven't used scotch brite but Hermes makes their own version. Have one in 220 grit and one in 320 grit. work well.
