Really nice piece of Sambar stag with copper. ADS Damascus.
No secrets here. The tang does not go all the way through. It goes about 3/4 into the stag. I am going to put a pin in it more than likely. The butt is just carved out and another piece of Damascus inserted in there. I do not like pith showing. I was trying to showcase as much of the stag as I could.Thoroughly impressive work! Are you comfortable in sharing how you assembled the tang and butt end of the knife. What material is that, a piece of damascus?
Thanks, I appreciate seeing your work. So, how do you hold the horn & knife to drill a pin hole? Is the butt end held in with epoxy separately from the tang?I am going to put a pin in it more than likely

The stag was filled with epoxy, very little in this case, and then it all sets up. Then I will create some fixture to get it on the drill press level so the hole lines up on both sides. I usually place the ricasso on a block so I know it is level. Then I will stack something under the other side to keep it level. The butt piece is epoxied separately.
