McClellan Made Blades
Well-Known Member
Hey guys (and girls),
My name is, as you know, Rex McClellan, I'm married with 1 son and 1 step-son, (those are my shop rats!) I've been making knives all of about 6 months. I'm currently working on my 7th knife, I'm pretty slow, I guess because I enjoy the process so much, I take my sweet time! I'm primarily a stock removal maker, but I do have a forge. Just not too proficient at it right now. And with so many knives to make for Christmas presents I decided to hold off on forging until I get caught up. I enjoy banging on hot steel, so it's just on hold for now. So far I've only done fixed blade knives, although I do want to do folders eventually. I'm still in the crawling stage of knife making, not quite ready to run as of yet. Once I get good enought with fixed blades I'll decide when to jump over to folders, one day, no hurry. I've always had a love of knives, I really can't explain it. Since I can remember I have always had an affection (or was it infection) for knives.
I'm proud to be a former MARINE, serving 3 years before being kicked out with a medical discharge after destroying my knee. Yes they had to kick me out, I had a love for the Corp that would rival Chesty Puller! I now work for the State of Alabama, Dept of Transportation as an Engineering Assistant ( I sit on a computer all day) and live in Deatsville, which is in Autauga County about 20+ miles from Montgomery. IN THE COUNTRY!! I love talking knives, either about making them, using them, or anything. Keep your eye out for
McClellan Made Blades, I have the same standards and pride in myself that I gained form being a Marine, every possible effort is put into each blade attempting to reach perfection.
Thanks Guys, and thanks to Tracy for starting this forum, it's a great place for newbies to learn. Rex
