This is my first design and looking for critique so I can make adjustments. As you can see I have many eraser marks so I don’t mind erasing and redoing. I cheated on the length of the tang to get a longer blade using 12 inch stock. I may have to adjust if you guys think there is not enough there to support the blade. I also need to design the guard, but really can’t do until that after I complete my final knife draft.E2D444D7-8569-42C8-8259-97C1A629890F.jpeg

I like the shape of the blade alot. I think the handle may be a little small. Just an opinion , so take it with a few grains of salt.

It may be, let’s see what others think. I just noticed my 5 inch line doesn’t reach the end of the handle. So to be clear the length of the handle is a total 5 inches. I actually thought it was a good length but too fat. So I’m interested in opinions.

Just know that the handle shape will require a 2" wide block of wood to get the drop down on the end. And you may want to fatten your tang as much as possible to get some weight on the hand side of the guard.

Ok maybe I should rethink the length of the tang and bring it back up to 4 inches and add some width to it. Are hidden tang Bowie’s traditionally not balanced?
