Ramp speed for AEB-L

I recently bought a Double Barrel kiln based on Ed's recommendation and am getting ready to attempt a temper on some AEB-L. I want to treat some thin paring knives and have read that the furnace should be set to ramp back up very slowly to temp once the door is opened and the knives are placed inside. This to keep the elements from being too hot and causing the thin blades to curl.
Is this correct, and if so, can you help me with how slowly I should bring the kiln up to temp.
Thanks and best wishes.

For hardening, PRE HEAT kiln to 1950F. Once kiln is AT temp, insert blade, and begin soak time (20 minutes or so), remove, quench, sub zero or cryo, temper.
