Put it to the test

Well I put my new Grizzly and me too the test today.I resharpened my mower blades. Now they were like unsharpen knife blanks.I only had a 100 grit belt.Well the blades were beaten up pretty bad but I did get a edge on them.Good for 1 one yr:) This was good practice.

Seemed ok but when it comes too putting a edge on the knifes I will remove the platen.I need too really put glass on my platen. But thats another day :)

putting the glass on is a must. I wish I'd done it the day I started grinding. It's so easy to do. I know people say to put a ledge on the platen for the glass to rest on, but I didn't. I coated my platen with JB Weld like I was frosting a cake and laid it on top the glass. In the morning it was good to go. If that much JB Weld lets go, well I guess I'll just spend fifteen more bucks on a piece of glass from Boss. (that's where I got it)

Note: don't be a dumbbell like me. put a piece of tape over the platen mounting holes before you lay on the JB Weld!
