Pure Alaskan,Bad to the Bone

I posted this in the custom forum but finally got the chance to clean up some of the pics,This knife is for a customer that told me I want a long slim blade and I want it to be Alaskan,He wanted oosik and that was about it.I found a piece of oosik that looked almost black and didn't appear to have any pith.I also stabilized it.The color was fantastic on the inside.I also used copper as Alaska had the largest richest copper mine.My wife and I have spent some time there and love the place.( Kennecott ) Blade 01,13 inches overall with a 7 3/4 blade.Brass and copper with a domed copper pin.I still need to make the sheath for it but the customer has seen the knife and loves it.Says he can't wait to use it ! That is a beauty. Has the qualities of a good fighter also. I love using copper on my knives, not for what it looks like right off the bench but what it will look like as it tarnishes or ages. Really gives off character.

Great Alaskan knife. You're right that oosik is solid and beautifully colored inside and out. I didn't know about Alaska and their copper industry. Interesting.
