Protective Gloves

What type of gloves is the best to use to prevent small cuts and abrasions. I am taking a heavy duty blood thinner and any little "nick" results in a LOT a blood flow. I have searched and found a ton of gloves with no explanation about their protective qualities.

If you have any experience, or can recommend a specific item, I would really like to know. As always, TIA. ...Teddy

Any leather or otherwise durable fabric glove shoul be enough to help prevent most small cuts and abrasions, depending on what exactly you're doing.

I RARELY wear gloves, but when I do, I prefer the tighter fitting "mechanic" or "framing/carpenter" style gloves. That said, I'll never wear ANY type of glove around a machine that rotates, has chains, belts, gears, or teeth, as in my opinion, you're just asking for trouble.

Teddy,
The kind that fit you and are the most comfortable with the level of protection you need.
Some say never wear gloves, Jewelery watches etc any thing that can snag.

I wear my wedding band, Watch and get inexpensive gloves from Harbor freight.
With you on those blood meds, I'm sure these are in order.

The other protective pads I wear are from Rio Grande.
being a Jeweler you may already have these?

The other cool thing about the Thumb & Finger guards is that after you have worn the tips off of the gloves. You just slide these on and you are good to go!

I use Dyneema gloves after hearing about them from Chris of Wilmont Grinders on a youtube video.

This is what I bought (which may not be exactly what Chris uses.)

They are suprisinglly stretchy and form-fitting. I'd say they are worth it even if they add just a bit of cut protection.

I think you can go higher in protection from the model above, but I don't know about the trade-off in dexterity that comes with the extra protection.
