Yesterday I couldn't even spell pantograph today I own one. It's a Green D2 it's in very good shape although a little dirty. When I get it cleaned up I'll take some pictures and show ya'll. It came with every thing I need except a 1/8" collet, does any one out there have one that they would be willing to part with?

Cool. I just recently got my pantograph going. When I get off work tonight ill send a link to a site for collets.

Rock several makers use them to cut the inlay cavity for the shields they have on the folders. you can also cut the shield itself with a pantograph. Of course it would not be limited to only shields any thing you want to inlay.

I have watched the Weldon Whitley slipjoint DVD and he uses it also to relieve his liners at the pivot also. Hey Calvin we going to see some interframes from you? I know i always drooled over those stag inlays on Ron Lake folders. Doug

Well I went to Wikipedia and feel just as ignorant as beforehand. Is this for engraving lettering?

Yes it can be used for engraving letters with rotary cutters or scratch engraving on hardend steel with a diamond tool. I also can be used for milling complex shapes from patterns, enlarging or reducing patterns.

Yes I will use it for miling out anti scratch pockets on my folders, for making and milling out pockets for inlays. I will make interframes one of these days, Lord willing,I have just recently gotten comfortable making slipjoints, next I am going to finish an automatic I started on.
