So I went bangin' on some steel today and ended up with a fillet knife with a cutting edge of 12 1/4". Made from a bar of 80CRV2 that was 5/8" by 3/16 by 13 3/4". Ended up with an over all length of 18" the tang needs shortened quite a bit but i was practicing drawing out steel. It flexes pretty evenly from tang to tip a bit stiffer than my usual store bought fillet knives but I think it will work nicely. If not it can be a small sword lol . So now I just need a handle and a fish to be big enough to try this out on.

I burned the edge a a couple inches up and still have to fix that. But I think it will make a fine fillet knife.
