Next Knife up Damascus

Just finished grinding this one to 180 grit after HT/tempering. There was a small delamination just behind the ricasso (as you can see in the right facing photo), I don't think it will be visible/problem after the finishing steps. I'll take this one to 600 grit for final etching. The blade edge on this one is 3-3/4" and its probably going to finish with an OAL of about 7-1/2". The billet is from Alabama Damascus. I've never constructed a knife that will have a through thread at the pommel. Haven't decided on the handle material but most likely I will use several species for a segmented handle.

They have nice stuff! I did a small Drop Point Hunter from a drop of theirs off of E-Bay. The pattern name is Alabama Random. My first Damascus blade.

They call that pattern "SHOTGUN" if I remember? I want to get another piece and have been looking but haven't found one I liked.
