So most of my projects are caught up, just need to finish my Demascus Hunter. But I decided to try my hand at something different. A small Chefs Knife! Gonna try the no plunge line grind on it. 3/32" 01 tool steel. Cut out blank, ground blank to final shape, drilled pin holes, center pin to be a Mosaic pin like my other hunting knife and Mahogony scales with maybe White liners? Haven't decided yet? Gonna heat treat next then try the bevels!!

Here is a tutorial on the process from ekim knives over on you tube. He does a good job of explaining the process in an entertaining way. As soon as it warms up a bit here in Nebraska, I have a couple of these knives to grind and finish. Good luck with yours...

I like Ekim subscribed on his channel! That tutorial is very good Dennis. I have a great idea in my head how it should go but we shall see if it translates to the grinder!! LOL!!

Here is the blade heat treated, ground and finish sanded before dip in Ferric Chloride. I tried a Hamon but I don't think it' gonna come out right? Still real happy with blade grind came out very nice. Now I have to pick some scales out for it!! IMG_20180210_51746.jpg IMG_20180210_11554.jpg IMG_20180210_1392.jpg

Well I put it in Ferric Chloride to see if the Hamon took. It didn't but I still like the look. Marked it too.

That's a good looking blade o7? I like it a lot. I use 01 quite a bit but really haven't tried to do a hamon. I think 1095 is the best for that.

I agree Ekim has the best learning videos out there he explains everything even his mess ups and how to fix them.Nice looking knife there Gliden!
