KNIFE MAKER
So I have been playing with a sheath design that is a bit different. It docks the blade like a kydex sheath (without the scratching) and I like the looks...still need to powder-coat one. I made it with Cayman lined with pig-skin as it's a pretty good test of the concept...cayman is miserable to work with imo...and is like a bunch of whoop-de-doos on thickness..the teeh I designed into the frame grabbed the Cayman nicely. Veg tan leather is a dream with this method. Assembly is not a dream...lol.
I have been making charity blades for over a year..(and some give aways) and have come to the conclusion that my leather working skills are still lagging behind my metal/wood/plastic working skills. I don't have time to make them good enough to match my blade quality. So this is where I'm headed...between machining and cutting leather and assembly... it takes me a bit longer than stitching. It seems very light, and strong, and with the two piece frame, flexible. This is the pocket version.
Some very minor kinks to work out but I think I'm headed in a good direction...
Apologies for photo quality!
