New Porta Band and table modification.

I bought the HF Bauer Porta Band saw. Got it on sale for 100 dollars. I took of the little black guide and used a piece of 1/4 inch flat aluminum 6 x 12 for the table. I cut a double kirf width wide channel in the center to accept the blade. I hope that is enough not to bind it. I drilled two holes with countersinks to accept the same screws that the saw came with that attached the black thingy. I will utilize the bench vise to hold it. I know realize I do need a pice of Velcro or something to keep the trigger pressed.AEBBBCEC-2C19-4C28-A6F8-72C3FABDF8C9.jpegE3B12191-FFB7-407F-A247-8CBC1EB87BB5.jpeg

The flyer I just got from HF, the Bauer is on sale for 89$. I don't think you can use the 20% off coupon with Bauer purchases. The bandsaw blades made by Bauer are as good as any I've tried.
I agree with the foot switch, that's the way to go in the long haul.

Looks good, but turn your table around so the slot is to front. That will allow you to change blades without removing table. I did my table like you did with slot to rear, didn't take long to decide I wanted to turn it around.

Another volt for the foot switch - a real handy thing.

That makes sense , I wish I caught that. It took me an hour to triple measure to make sure those holes lined up. I didn’t want to make a mistake and have to re drill holes. So much for that.
